The SYSTER Project
Self-Sufficiency Through Training, Education and Resources
The SYSTER Project is a comprehensive community based program that empowers and connects women with opportunities to develop skills in financial education, "green" workforce development, mentoring and entrepreneurial small business development. The community of SYSTER Circles consist of women engaged as business leaders, mentors and volunteers who share common life experiences from dynamic roles as mothers, godmothers, daughters, sisters, aunties, grandmothers, wives and
community friends that care.
The First Day First Initiative
A national awareness campaign focused on connecting children to educational excellence and aims to impact community wellness and inspire kids forward to self-esteem, confidence and potential through essential school supply kits and the national network of mentors and volunteers
committed to care.
Kids Believe For Education
A comprehensive youth empowerment and mentoring program of the Moretta Economic Development Corporation. The program focuses on the annual distribution of school supplies to children in collaboration with the national network of SYSTER Circles. Regional community events raise awareness and distribute school supplies locally to kids in need.
Kids Believe For Science
A education initiative to provide resources (books, school supplies and scholarships) and connect youth to enrichment activities in math, science and technology. An annual student scholarship luncheon fosters the pursuit of higher learning in the fields of science and technology. The luncheon also recognizes teachers for educational excellence.
School Box Kit Program
The
School Box Kit Program works in collaboration with agencies to distribute essential school supplies to children in need. Connecting kids to education and the joy of learning are key goals of this program. The program aims to make a difference in the lives of underserved children and their families, bridge resource gaps, and reduce the lasting negative effects of deep budget cuts, teacher job losses, household unemployment, community foreclosures, crime and homelessness.
Training and Technical Assistance Program (MTAP)
The Moretta
training and technical assistance services help community based organizations bring ideas to implementation through assessment, process design, capacity development, and systems evaluation for sustainable collaboration, program expansion, resource development and grant writing services.
