Moretta Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2006, works with grassroots, community-based organizations to build organizational capacity, promote health & wellness, support military families and promote education and entrepreneurship initiatives. Through collaboration, peer groups, community engagement and technical assistance, MEDC fosters self-sufficiency and public-private partnerships through initiatives related to community revitalization, affordable housing, sustainable entrepreneurship and economic development.
SYSTER Conference Tour on Women's Entrepreneurship and Economic Development
The entrepreneurship conference events facilitate in-person and face-to-face opportunities for entrepreneurs and small business leaders to share knowledge, best practices and strategies for the next generation of innovation, new businesses and promote the advancement of collaboration, partnerships, wellness and economic well-being.
Community Economic Summit & Business Mixer The Community Economic Summit & Business Mixer event includes a moderated panel discussion with community leaders, sponsor presentations and business mixer / exhibitor fair for local businesses to display educational and resource information.
The event focuses on community development, revitalization, health, nutrition and physical fitness awareness for youth, adults, overall peace, wellness and well-being throughout the community. The community education and outreach event is open to the public, free to attend and is co-hosted by the Moretta Economic Development Corporation.
The moderated panel discussion with community and civic leaders engages relevant discussion around central issues key to economic empowerment, community revitalization and development - including reflection and historical perspectives, innovative ideas, and workforce development in emerging high growth industry sectors of local economies.
Moretta House to HOME Programs use a comprehensive and holistic approach to strategic partnerships and community wellness initiatives. Program solutions respond to the root causes of challenges while contributing to wellness outcomes including health, education and quality of life. Rapid response program works to help vulnerable families facing crisis by working directly with them to provide situational assessment and solution counseling and direct temporarary support to avoid or prevent homelessness.
Moretta House to HOME Family Resource Centers focus on family, wellness, and education by working with committed community residents, grass-root organizations, faith, business and philanthropic organizations to improve community safety, economic independence and youth service-learning participation.
Moretta supports outreach efforts to help children, youth and families effected by homelessness and disaster. Goals are accomplished by bridging resource gaps and removing real and perceived barriers to resources and *SMART systems. Impact and results are achieved in:

- Youth Development, Service-Learning and Mentoring Programs
- Reentry and Job Training Development
